Здравствуйте. Это приложение подкупает своей простотой и эффективностью. Однако оно два года не обновлялось и пользоваться им практически невозможно. Пожалуйста обновите.

перестало позволять настроить. работает лишь в режиме по умолчанию. Разработчики игнорируют покупателей своего продукта.

Даёт прослушать только несколько слов. Потом отсылает за покупкой на 299 рублей.

Excellent practice for tone recognition

The tones are so hard. This helps.

Great pronunciation. Really helps.

If you didn't start with tones, your Chinese will be unintelligible. This app is a great way to master your tones before you start intensively studying vocabulary.

I like the app, but the free version lets you try a of couple things, with ads, which is expected, but then that is it. In words there is no free mode, only a very short trial.

Just what I was looking for! I need to get a better sense of pronunciation, and a feel for pinyin. This is great!! The included pinyin & pronunciation guide alone is worth the value!! <3

I recommend this to anyone wanting aural training for pinyin. I am tone-deaf to some of the sounds but with this trainer, it kerps fettjng better. Thank you for such a valuable tool for foreign learners!

As others are saying, there's just a limit to how accurately this app can reproduce tones. Very often the speaker cannot clearly distinguish between a two vs three tone for instance, and that's a little frustrating because you just have to know the original word (which defeats the purpose of guessing tones). But overall the app is still helpful and better than nothing. You'll definitely find yourself wishing the speaker would pronounce the words more clearly though.

This is a great app for listening practice and it will help you realize how often you unintentionally say offensive words

I enjoy working on my tones with this simple but fun app! It gets a bit monotonous though! It may be an idea to incorporate a testing function to enable users train and compare their tones ....

I love this app. It constantly challenges me with new words and pairs of words. It's hard to put it down ... I can't wait to see what the company has in store for future apps.

You all have got to give this app a try. You have nothing to lose. I was unsure if this app would be up to par given the plethora of crappy Mandarin learning apps on the App Store. I was blown away. This app is phenomenal. Love at first sight!

Grateful for this app which initially reveals I'm right where I know I'm at. I am sure with practice I will develop my ability to recognize the sounds better.

There are limits to how well the audio on an iPhone can reproduce high-pitched initial sounds, so I don't know if it is helping me recognize things like q and c. But it is really improving my ability to recognize tones, especially the tone when I hear two syllables back-to-back. When I started using this app, I was not doing much better than I could just by guessing, but gradually I am becoming able to recognize particular combinations. It is training my ear at an age when I need all the help I can get.

Very nice app for training pinyin. The only thing I would improve is an option to stop after incorrectly answered questions so that you can repeatedly play back both the incorrect and correct answers for comparison before proceeding.

I use this on the iPad mini and like it a lot. But I'm only giving it 3 stars for this reason: at least one word in the app has the wrong tones (shuǐguǒ) and will penalize you for answering correctly. The 'draw the tone' mode doesn't work at all and can't recognize what you draw. Try harder, people...

There's no sound on my version. Completely hopeless!

After just a few words the trial version stops working. No way to review the words that you have heard, just a demand that you purchase the upgrade. I declined and deleted this app because the few words that I saw, were not enough for me to decide if this app were worth buying or not. A better way to learn is to use the website : Memrise.

Great app. Worth the upgrade. If you're having problems catching the pinyin in class, these drills will help immensely. If you can't hear the tone properly, your intonation might be off. Mine sure was. The only reason why I didn't give this 5 stars was because I would like see it more customizable to test my selection of initial sounds against other initial sounds and having the ability to test myself on the ones I frequently miss. Yes, one can review the list of past word, correct or wrong so why can't those wrong words be retested? I must say that how the app groups like sounding initial 'words' is incredible.

The software stops working after a few sample questions then suggests that the user upgrade. This renders it completely useless. You can't even go back and review the sample questions. This is not the way to sell an upgrade. At least give us a working trial version so we can learn a beginning lesson or two. After that we can upgrade to a fully functional version to get more advanced lessons. Almost every other language learning app on iTunes has a working trial that you can use until you are ready for the next level. This is the only one I've seen where it becomes completely useless. Awful and shameful.

Low quality audio and as the other review stated some totally wrong audio plus a severe limitation on this trial version make it something I won't buy. That being said the layout and concept is excellent so w any luck there will be a much improved version in the near future

This is a pretty nice little app. I have a bit of an issue with catching tones. This is good for helping to more readily distinguish the tones. Only bad side is the speaker is not always clear on saying words and pronouncing tones, and IMHO sometimes wrong. Overall very good.
